Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. My fridge was only 2 1/2 years old and it stopped cooling. I went through all the troubleshooting steps on the LG website to no avail. Got a hold of LG to put in a request for a tech to come out since it was still under warranty. I suggested to the representative that I thought it was the compressor. A tech came out roughly a week later and sure enough it was the compressor but he didnt bring a new one to put in. We waited another week for him to come back out and replace the compressor. After two weeks without a working refrigerator Im so grateful to have it working again

Bad product bad customer service

The compressor recently died and LG is really dragging their feet trying to find someone to repair it. Its been 3 weeks. Ive called them several times and keep getting the run around. I NEED A FRIDGE I bought a crappy 9 year old monster fridge as a temporary solution paid $75 for it and its sitting in my living room because my BROKEN LG is still sitting in my kitchen UNREPAIRED.

I bought this refrigerator in 2021 and it worked great. The fridge had a lot of space and I loved the the lowest drawer to hold tortillas and cheese. Then in 2024 it quit cooling and couldnt get anyone to repair it. I am thankful that LG provided us credit to get a new one. The service from LG was great and they helped with the process to get a replacement fridge. I would recommend this refrigerator and LG

Never thought Id like this style but we purchased for our home in AK and loved it Then we moved to NE and purchased the same as we liked it so much - lots of space freezer convenient and more roomy. Unfortunately the unit in NE needed a new Water solenoid intake put in as it was failing the icemaker. We ordered the part and installed ourselves thank you youtube and works great now

Ive had this refrigerator for three years. I do like its very roomy. The problem Im having right now is it does not work I do believe my compressor has went out. I did buy an extended warranty. Ive been two weeks trying to get it repaired but I had an extended warranty LG and my extended warranty People were not together. Hopefully I get a call soon.

Love the bottom drawer feature and in general I like the refrigerator. However was not happy when the compressed guit after only four years. The good part was LG replaced the compressor as it was under warranty. Lost all the frozen food on the freezer and was a mess for a little while. But I still like the product.

LG bottom freezer refrigerator

This refrigerator is absolute garbage it failed within 8 months of purchase lost over $800 of food lg sent a tech saying that it was an issue i caused nope after waiting over 2 weeks for service with a family of 6 and no refrigerator and no compensation for my food the tech found the linear inverter compressor had failed he said that this a massive issue and the fix may only last for a few months and that basically lg is building and selling inferior products with complete disregard for quality and he changes these linear compressors every day. How is LG allowed to continue selling inferior garbage that needlessly pollutes our planet and dissolves our natural resources by encouraging a throw away buy new environment for the simple basis of profit over quality. This was an expensive refrigerator as i spent $2400 for it to be completely inferior from the beginning with zero accountability from LG. This should concern our entire society as it effects everyone even those who dont purchase an LG product.

We have only had this fridge for three years and our compressor has failed already. We got it fixed through LG and were told that we could submit a compensation claim for all of our lost food. We lost $500 worth of food and when I went to file the claim I was outright denied because they fixed it quickly. We were without a fridge for 2 days. We didnt realize the fridge stopped working and a ton of our food had spoiled. This was a fridge that we NEEDED for my husbands life saving diabetic medicine. Im absolutely outraged that a 3 year old fridge died and LG doesnt stand by their customers. Buyer Beware

Fridge was installed on 6/10/24 it had a sealed system failure 6/19/24 and we havent been able to use it since. Ive been in contact with LG since 6/19/24 and Im still waiting for a maintenance technician to come fix the fridge. The earliest the tech can come is 7/9/24 so at that point I will have had my fridge a month and only had it in working order for 9 of the 30 days. Worst $1700 Ive ever spent. Terrible customer service. Just an overall nightmare.

The Jury Is Still Out

I bought this product because I loved the size and the layout. I had it for less than a week and the bottom freezer door got stuck in the open position. It took several days for Lg to send a repair person and an additional two days waiting for a second house call for repairs. When the repair person came to replace a left door rail it didnt go well and the right side of the door began malfunctioning as well. The repair person was understandably frustrated as was I. In the end the door was repaired but the door rails were left unsecured so my daughter had to do that with the help of YouTube instructions. At this point the jury is still out as far as the durability of the refrigerator. To be fair I do have other Lg appliances that have been problem free thus far.

Get Ready to Lose Hundreds of Dollars

This unit didnt even last 3 years. There is a known problem of the compressor going bad but instead of recalling the product and fixing the issue LG waits for the compressor to fail and the customer to lose hundreds of dollars in food and be without a working fridge/freezer. Repair man said his company replaces 4-5 compressors on this unit EVERY DAY Customer service is terrible and as a courtesy they will reimburse $200 for food loss. What a joke That would maybe suffice for a single person but as a family of 5 we lost around $500 worth of food between the fridge and freezer plus we had to eat out for the week before a repair man came out then once fixed we had to spend hundreds to replenish what we lost Do yourself a favor and avoid LG

For the love of LG refrigerator

I bought this refrigerator over a month ago and have been completely satisfied with it ever since. My old refrigerator died and I was having difficulty finding a refrigerator that fit in the limited space in my kitchen. LG is phenomenal. Not only did it fit but it enhance the look up by kitchen. The pull out freezer drawer is beyond words. I am so much in love with this refrigerator.

Take extra insurance for bottom freezer LG frig

I bought this about 4 years ago and while away for three weeks the compressor went out and I came home to a disaster. If you get this kind of refrigerator make sure you take out the extra insurance. Daniel the repair guy was outstanding but they could not get hm to my house for 6 more days.

Decent but two huge flaws

Fridge layout ex freezer on bottom is good. Compressor is underpowered and noisy. Annoying to listen to when it runs. But the absolute WORST thing is the door is open beep that it makes. So annoying. Imagine youre loading in groceries and thus need to keep the door open but you have to listen to that beep the whole time. Or you open the door and take a minute to think about what you want to get out. Beeping. You need to change the beep to start off the door has been open for like 5 minutes. Clearly you forgot about it in that case and need to be reminded. That would be fine. As it is though Im not buying another LG fridge until you fix the compressor to make them robust and quiet and either remove the door beep or significantly delay its start

The LG Brand- What a disappointment

I bought this refrigerator/freezer just under 4 years ago. At the time the linear compressor was promoted big time and the indications were that it was reliable and energy efficient. Just short or 4 years my compressor failed. While I almost never buy extended warranties I bought a 5 year warranty since this is such a vital piece of home operation. After the compressor was replaced there was a coolant leak- so we were using dry ice and conventional ice for nearly a week. Cost $100 plus lost about $100 in food. LG knows this linear compressor is unreliable and short-lived but continues to build their appliances with it. There has already been one class action against LG and will be another. Buy anything other than LG.

Loads of storage space

Durable adjustable shelves. Lots of capacity in the door to store items. Would love the freezer storage compartment to have wire baskets rather than the plastic storage area but it does seem to be durable.

Buyer beware of this self-destructing fridge.

We really liked our fridge until it stopped working. Exactly 3 years to the day and the fridge stopped working. Contacted LG service and they schedule a repair. First repair attempt replaced the compressor that did not solve the issue. Second repair attempt yielded nothing as they have to order new parts. A new compressor condenser and accumulator are now needed. I cannot believe LG continues to sell refrigerators with this linear compressor that they know has a HIGH failure rate. And then repair the bad ones with the same part so we are destined for our fridge go out again. The repair tech stated he replaces between 3-5 of these compressors EVERYDAY. Honestly I would just like my money back rather than repairing it with the same junk parts. Plus we had the added bonus of throwing away a lot of food after it stopped working. I guess that is one positive this fridge forces you to clean it out every 2-3 years against your will.

LG bottom freezer refrigerator I loved it and it had great reviews. After a year and a half the compressor went bad the repairman who replaced the compressor had to come back within a week and install a new circuit board. Less than a year later the freezer sensor went bad causing variations in the temperature. someone came and replace that two weeks later same problem then LG sent someone. He fixed the problem and one day later the entire refrigerator shut down no power. I would think after 5 repairs LG would realize this is a Lemon and needs replaced.

Slightly disappointed

Well I have had this frig less than 2 years and I just had to put a compressor in it. I had to fight for 2 days to get a work order . I was told by 2 people that it was totally covered under warranty.. Now Im being told labor is not. That is $250 in labor I was not prepared for. I was out of a frig for 10 days and no compensation has been offered in the least for the inconvience.

We purchased our bottom freezer four years ago during Covid. We were pleased with it until last month when it stopped cooling. We called the appliance store where we purchased it and they sent a repairman. They were not equipped to repair it and refer us to another larger appliance company. They sent a repairman who did not have the parts on his truck. When he returned with the parts he was efficient and made the repairs. This conversation is because we bought the same refrigerator for our Florida condo and hope it doesnt break next year. We are still waiting for repair paperwork.

Beware of Linear compressors

This fridge was a 5 star appliance until it wasnt anymore. I bought it in June 2020 and had zero issues with it until June 2024. It was a great unit did its job quietly and lived up to my expectations. Then it quit. No warning no noise just opened the door one day and found melted ice water and thawing food. Side note: I had to jump thru a lot of hoops to track down a copy of my receipt because I needed it to register my fridge. Dont forget to register your appliances and hold onto that information I used the LG Smart Diagnosis app which said it was working just fine even though my 50 degree freezer indicated otherwise I filed a warranty claim online and took the first available appointment which was a week out. I received no confirmation at all that I had completed my registration correctly 2 days later I went back to the LG website to an online chat and he was able to confirm my appointment. In the subsequent week that we were living out of coolers and buying ice I did not receive any sort of phone email or text confirming the appointment. I did receive a phone call from the tech when he was an hour away and he did arrive in the window that I reserved. The tech did his job quickly swapping out the compressor which is less than stellar... do your research before purchasing a Linear compressor. In the 2 weeks since this happened the fridge is cooling just fine but now makes a slight hum instead of dead silence like it was before. Since then Ive researched Linear compressors and found them to be less than good almost defective in their design. In our current age when big corporations want us communicate every possible bit of information to them Im disappointed in LGs lack of communication back to us. Im disappointed that LGs app couldnt even confirm that the refrigerator was not working. Im disappointed in LGs lack of communication after their service. The only thing theyve done is send me a link to fill out this review Most of all Ive lost faith that my refrigerator will last 20-25 years a claim that Ive read that LG makes regarding their Linear compressors. I understand that things happen and not EVERY appliance will be trouble free but after seeing the troubles others have had with their refrigerators I feel like LG is intentionally ignoring the fact that their making a poor product. The only way Ill ever purchase another LG appliance in the future is if this refrigerator lasts another 15 years after this repair but somehow I seriously doubt that will happen.

Compressor/electrical panel problems

Fridge stopped working after 4 years. Based on the flashing lights it indicated compressor. Waited a week and a half for the company LG called to order the part. They came and said wrong part and that the electrical panel was bad. Called back 4 days later to tell us the panel wasnt covered and the repair would be as much as a new fridge. Wouldnt install the compressor they ordered to see if this would resolve the problem. Spent nearly 3 weeks without a refrigerator and an infant to try to feed. I think for the money we spent we can expect a fridge that is well cared for to last longer than 4 years and a warranty that lasts longer than 1 year. Will be looking elsewhere for a replacement. Otherwise we loved the fridge before it broke.

Owned it for a little over 3 years. Compressor went out about a month and a half ago. LG customer service was horrible as well as the people they chose to come fix it. I asked for different people to come out because when I would try and get in touch with the repair people to set a time and date I wouldnt get a response and when I would talk to LG customer service I was told when the job is picked up they have 15 days to complete the repair. They called me one morning when I was at work to say they were headed to my house so I had to use a day off. It ended up going out again 2 weeks later. I called LG again and again they were horrible. I asked to speak with a manager/supervisor and instead of getting to I got asked why and what for. So I called back the next day and got a competent customer service representative and they were actually able to pick a better repair company that actually fixed everything that goes along with replacing a compressor. It took another 2 weeks to get fixed though. In that time I wrote to the LG presidents office and received a call. The lady that I talked to said that she would call me back after the repair was done and send a $200 gift card to replace a little bit of the $500 plus groceries that I had to throw out between the two times that this refrigerator failed me. It was more disappointing the way that their customer service was and especially the lady that worked at the presidents office. Needless to say I will never buy anything that has LG on it.

The problem was fixed and now I am waiting on my reimbursement check for my food. The wait is because you have to be approved for food. So this is my only problem

If I could write a review of how well it is doing I would but considering the fact my fridge has been broke down for over a week I would say its not going too well. We have spoken to 5 different people no exaggeration and still have not seen 1 single soul of a technician at my home to fix this mess. Let alone this is the SECOND time in 30 DAYS that Ive had to throw out a refrigerator FULL of food because it decided to not work anymore. GROCERIES ARE HIGHER THAN EVER PEOPLE and I refuse to keep throwing it away because the refrigerator aint refrigerating and apparently no technicians are teching. If it wasnt still under warranty it would be on a junk pile for sure. For over 1000.00 PLEASE DO BETTER BY YOUR CUSTOMERS LG

Waiting ten days and counting for an LG repair man

Very poor service. After four years my LG refrigerator stopped working. Three days after my initial call to customer service I was informed it would be one week before a technician would be scheduled to check my refrigerator. It has been ten days without a refrigerator. A technician is scheduled to come tomorrow to check the refrigerator. However this weekend I received a message informing me if the broken part is not available it would need to be ordered and the repair would be delayed. Would anyone consider purchasing a refrigerator from a company that takes ten days and counting to repair a refrigerator still under warranty?

The customer service sucks talked to three different people and a manager about my food lost got four different story. I really hate lyers got no where. Owned the LG 26 cu ft bottom mount refrigerator for almost 4 years when the compressor went. Dealing with LG customer service is a nightmare. They have absolutely no repair person in my area. Took 3 weeks of fighting with them to get a partial refund of what I paid for it. I will not deal with LG again.

If it would let me give zero stars I would. The compressor died after just over three years. My father lost hundreds of dollars in food. He couldnt use the repair company he wanted to use he has to use an LG contracted repair company. The CONTRACTED LG repair company had to order parts then they had to reschedule the repair because the tech had a family emergency. My father has been without a refrigerator since May 13 and the CONTRACTED repair company cant come to repair it until June 12. LG should have more options when still under warranty.

This unit lasted 2 years and died. I contacted LG who had problems finding a tech. Finally about 2 weeks later one shows up. He started criticizing the placement in the garage. The door was to far unlevel which seems like LG issue. The bottom back vent cover I removed and blew out all dust to insure clean. The LG tech decided that dust cover left the entire system open to the environment which is ridiculous and made excuses why he needed to get approval and disappeared never to be seen or heard from again. A friend came by and told me this is frequently a LG problem with substandard compressors. As well as lawsuits over them. LG then decided I voided my warranty because the Freon system was open which was a completely untrue statement from the tech. Bottom line junk product useless warranty and customer service

i bought this refrigerator 7/22 and on May112024 we were awaken in the early morning hours with a loud banging noise coming from the refrigerator We called an appliance repairman and he determined the problem was the ice maker. He replaced the ice maker after he was able to acquire one several days later at a cost of $550.00. We were advised that the warranty was only for 12 months and our unit was 22 months old.
